BARBARA DZIEDZIC

Barbara Dziedzic has been a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant at Liberty for more than 15 years. She always takes time to listen to the individuals she supports and demonstrates our Person Centered value by helping them to understand their choices when resolving a problem. Individuals appreciate that she is advocating for them and their best interests. Barbara is respectful, an excellent team player, and seeks input from others. She volunteers on special agency projects and committees, such as the Dementia and Aging Resource Committee. Barbara is an asset to the Liberty family.

SHELLY VALIENTE

NOVEMBER 2006

SHELLY VALIENTE

Shelly Valiente has been an employee of Liberty for 16 years.  In those years she has held positions in Residential, Day Supports and currently in Family Support Services. Shelly is a strong advocate for the individuals and families she supports. Shelly builds strong ties with these folks, and she considers them an extension of her family. It is rumored that when Shelly misses a dance – it just isn’t the same. This is Shelly’s third nomination for employee of the month, and apparently the third time is a charm.

GARY CLAYBURN

OCTOBER 2006

GARY CLAYBURN

Gary Clayburn has been employed in Liberty’s Shipping and Receiving department for almost ten years. He has participated in all aspects of the department, including receiving, shipping, driving and inventory control.

Gary’s vibrant personality makes him a pleasure to work with—as he helps create a positive work environment. Gary he relates well to the consumers and his peers and is always willing to go the extra mile in order to accomplish whatever is needed.

We’re glad that Gary is on the Liberty team!

JESSICA HAZZARD

SEPTEMBER 2006

JESSICA HAZZARD

Jessica Hazzard works at the Day Support site. She is clearly focused on Liberty’s values and how they can be implemented on a daily basis. She demonstrates “quality” by ensuring that individual programs are carried out as written, while doing an excellent job coaching others to do the same. She displays “teamwork” by assisting her co-workers, not because they require it, but because it will relieve strain. She is “person-centered” by respecting each consumer’s opinions, choices, desires and needs.

Jessica is always upbeat, and doesn’t shy away from tasks or behaviors. She has undertaken additional duties at day supports, including taking the lead as personal outcome leader for her area, assuming a temporary leadership role, and being a council representative for the day survivor picnic.

Jessica’s excellent job performance is the result of her professional commitment.

DAYNE PECK

AUGUST 2006

DAYNE PECK

Dayne Peck, who works in Liberty's Residential program, exemplifies Liberty's values each and every day.

Dayne is always kind and courteous and treats everyone with respect. His attendance record has been perfect for the entire 12 years he’s been with Liberty! He frequently comes in early, stays late or works extra to ensure that the men have continuity in their schedule and routine.

The house runs smoothly when Dayne is present and all enjoy working with him. He is an integral part of the pleasant atmosphere at Keller and plays a key role in the successes the men have achieved. Dayne is very patient and allows the men he supports to be as independent as possible, particularly during their morning routine.

Dayne is an asset to the Keller Drive residence and to Liberty.

TAMMY COLLINS

JULY 2006

TAMMY COLLINS

It is no surprise that Tammy Collins was elected by her peers as Employee of the Month.

Tammy has been with Liberty for more than 23 years and knows most consumers and staff by name. She is thorough in all that she does, pays attention to detail, and has good organizational skills. Tammy is personable and demonstrates a person-centered sensitivity with both employees and consumers.

Tammy is one of those employees who is always willing to go the extra mile when and wherever needed. In fact, she has made several trips to work with and support our employees at Choices for Community Living in the State of Delaware. Tammy’s commitment to the consumers and staff is exemplary. We are fortunate to have her as a part Liberty’s “Training Team.”

Thanks to their commitment, an environment has been created in which persons feel safe, secure and respected. We are proud to have Erin and Christine as part of the Liberty team.
