Governance

Liberty, the Montgomery County Chapter of NYSARC, Inc., is a private, not-for-profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.  At least one-third of the Board are parents, direct relatives or legal guardians of an individual with developmental or other intellectual disabilities.  The consistent involvement of family members ensures that Liberty remains true to the values and vision of the parents who founded the organization in 1957.   In addition to a dedicated, talented group of parents and family members, Liberty has been fortunate to recruit community and business leaders who have brought a wide range of experience and knowledge to the organization.
