If you think you may not have the skills to work as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Liberty’s staff training team can provide the training you need to succeed. New DSP’s receive 3 1/2 weeks of classroom training preparing them to support people with Intellectual Disabilities. Training in American Red Cross First Aid/CPR, Defensive Driving and many topics provide the assistance needed to do the job. An integral part of training new DSP’s includes a combination of classroom training and on-site coaching that allows for application of classroom training right from the beginning. When new employees have worked for a few months, additional courses are available to support people working with Autism, Dementia and Alzheimers Disease or Dual Diagnosis on an as needed basis.
All of our employees receive a two day Welcome and Orientation and additional training depending on the position they are hired to work in. This would then be followed up by training and coaching from your Supervisor in your specific Department.

Liberty also promotes ongoing growth and development of our employees. We offer Leadership Development courses on a regular basis.
“My friend Debbie loves people and she has her own way of communicating. You can sort of sense what she wants or needs. She does try to verbalize them as much as she can, but just from her facial expressions, you know that she's happy here at this beautiful new building.
