Q. How do I get admitted in to FSS programs?
A. Contact your MSC; your MSC will complete a referral packet for the programs you wish to attend and will assemble the appropriate paperwork to be submitted.
Q. Is there any cost to be in the FSS program?
A. There are no costs for our programs. The only possible cost could be for admission fees to attend certain recreational activities. We do have many free activities on our Recreation calendar, so activities requiring costs on your part are minimal.
Q. Is transportation always available for recreation?
A. Yes, we provide transportation for all recreational activities. The only activity we do not provide transportation for are our drop off dances which occur three Fridays a month.
Q. Can I pick my own staff?
A. No; while we value family input on staffing and since we provide hundreds of hours of services monthly to many consumers, program needs may not always allow you to pick your staff. You will have input on staffing for a 1 on 1 program, however, due to staff availability and program needs, the same staff may not be assigned each time.
Q. How do you decide which services I am qualified to receive?
A. Decisions on what Medicaid services your or your family member are eligible to receive are made by The Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD).

“I would tell anyone who is thinking about applying to Liberty to leave their perceptions at the door. I think a lot of people doubt their own ability or willingness to go into human services, but I can say from my experience that I have no qualms about my decision. Liberty is an excellent place to work.”
