Long-Time Liberty ARC Employee Appointed as Director of Nursing

Liberty ARC is pleased to announce the appointment of Deborah Oliver as the agency’s Director of Nursing.

Oliver has been a Registered Nurse for 38 years with a broad range of healthcare experience in medical/surgical, critical care, home care, skilled nursing care, staff education and nursing supervisory positions. For the past 20 years, Oliver has been employed with Liberty ARC in various capacities, including Residential Registered Nurse, Staff Training Registered Nurse, and most recently, Assistant Director of Nursing.

“I became familiar with Liberty ARC while working at a local hospital, where I provided nursing care to people supported by the agency,” Oliver said of what drew her to Liberty ARC. “I also had colleagues whose family members worked here and spoke highly of the organization. The mission and values of Liberty ARC resonated with me and has kept me here for so many years, including the relationships I have built with the people we support and their loved ones.”

In this new position, Oliver oversees medical supports and supervises Liberty ARC’s Nursing Department, comprised of Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses, to ensure the highest quality of medical care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Oliver attended the St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing in Amsterdam and became a Registered Nurse in 1987. She also attended SUNY Empire, where she completed numerous continuing education courses as part of her commitment to lifelong learning, professional development and excellence in nursing care.
