Manager of the Year: Amy Gifford

On this Wednesday, we would like to recognize Amy Gifford as this year’s Manager of the Year at Liberty ARC!

Amy is a Residential Manager who oversees a home in the upper portion of Montgomery County.

“I am honored to say the least,” Amy said of being name as an Employee of the Year winner and being nominated for the recognition by her peers. “This was unexpected, but truly is a privilege.”

Amy has grown up with Liberty ARC during her 27-year career. She first came to the agency at 19 years old as a Direct Support Professional. She then became an Assistant Manager and then an Awake Night Charge Supervisor before taking on her current role, but in the Amsterdam region.  Before she even applied, Amy’s heart was already with the agency as her family was a Family Care Provider for two ladies, who were supported by Liberty ARC.

“I am thankful for the opportunity to grow with Liberty, as well as the people we support,” Amy said. “I have spent 25 years in the Amsterdam region, and just recently transitioned to upcounty three years ago. I am blessed to have become an upcounty team member and grateful for all the staff, who have stuck by me and welcomed me. They are the reason behind any of my success.”

As a Residential Manager, Amy is responsible for all aspects and functioning of a residence that is home to 11 supported persons. Amy ensures they are living their best lives, and she supports her team of staff to be successful in their careers. She also helps with overall staff scheduling for the Operations Department in the upcounty region.

“I love all the lives I have been able to be a part of and the opportunity to support others in achieving their goals,” Amy said. “I have so many wonderful memories with so many people. From day trips, to vacations whether that is camping or going on a cruise, to holidays. There is many precious memories.”
