Program Employee of the Year: Karen Allen

Congratulations to Karen Allen, Liberty ARC’s 2025 Program Employee of the Year!

“I am extremely honored, overwhelmed, and very humbled by being named one of the Employees of the Year,” said Karen, a Senior Habilitation Coordinator at Liberty ARC.

Karen has worked for the agency for 19 years, wearing many different hats in various departments during her career with Liberty ARC. She first started as a Clinical Assistant in the Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech Departments, where she stayed for 17 years. Karen also worked as a Medicaid Service Coordinator and a Direct Support Professional.

“I am forever grateful for the many years working with my clinical family as their Clinical Assistant,” Karen said. “It was through their example that I found inspiration and a passion for support care. My past clinical supervisors, Linda Stump and Laurel Skultety, are amazing role models and have given me the confidence to pursue my current position as Senior Hab Coordinator with Liberty ARC.”

As a Senior Hab Coordinator, Karen carries out both direct care and administrative duties within day habilitation programs based out of Rotterdam, including day habilitation development and oversight, supervision and staff support, as well as advocacy and coordination. Overall, Karen’s goal each day at Liberty ARC is to support people to live a person-centered, independent, and fulfilling lives.

“I love empowering others and building genuine connections with the people I support and their families, as well as with the staff I supervise,” Karen said. “I am constantly inspired by the strength, resilience, and unique perspectives of the people I work with. The unconditional appreciation I receive every day, from the people I support, reminds me that even small actions can have a big impact. I’m privileged to be a part of someone’s life in a meaningful way.”
