Career Opportunities at Liberty ARC: Promotion to Assistant Director

I am Liberty Story: Career Opportunities at Liberty ARC: Promotion to Assistant Director. Headshot of Julie Trombly

Liberty ARC is pleased to announce the promotion of Julie Trombly as the Assistant Director of Employment Services.

In this position, Julie will oversee Employment Services programs for people with disabilities, including Liberty ARC’s Career and Employment Network (CEN), Community Pre-Voc, Pathway to Employment, and day hab programs, Community Connections and Life Skills.

Julie’s vast knowledge in Employment Services is a valuable asset as she comes in to this new role. She has been with Liberty ARC for 18 years working in the specific field, starting as an Employment Specialist. In 2016, she accepted the position of Coordinator of Employment Services and worked as a Senior Hab Coordinator for Community Connections.

“I feel honored to have been chosen for the role of Assistant Director,” Julie said.  “Employment Services is a wonderful department to be connected to, with so many positive outcomes occurring on a daily basis. A person might begin their employment journey in an employment-based day hab or Community Pre-Voc program. Through hard work and determination, they may work their way up to competitive employment.  It is satisfying to see people obtain and retain competitive and meaningful employment opportunities throughout the community.”

“I am excited that Julie will be joining us in this new role to lead our Employment Services team and the organization in a positive direction,” said Erin Abele, Director of Employment Services and Industrial Operations at Liberty ARC. “Julie has demonstrated tremendous interest and ambition in her professional growth. She has built a strong, equipped, and committed team at CEN.”

Before her career with Liberty ARC, Julie sat as a chair person for the Special Education Committee at Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School District for three years.  She received her Associate’s Degree in Marketing from Herkimer County Community College in 1988 and her Bachelor’s Degree in Community and Human Resources in 2022 from Empire State College.

Julie received certification through the TEACCH® Autism Program at the University of Chapel Hill in North Carolina and is a certified Work Incentives Practitioner through the Cornell Institute on Employment and Disability.
